Robert Earl Hughes was born in 1926 in Illinois and toured briefly with a sideshow company, but mostly lived a normal life. His top weight of 1,069 pounds puts him in the Guiness book of World Records as the heaviest human being. His cherubic countenance as well as his tent-like apparel give him a wholly genderless appearance.
