New York's Blue Angel nightclub was the utmost risque chic nightclub of the late 1970's with cover charges hovering around $20, quite a bit more than spare pocket change at the time. Among the attractions were a series of burlesque style drag and transsexual shows featuring nude performers and simulated sex. Among the androgynous performers were Chrysis, at left in miniscule, if any costume, and Bobby Carter doing his best Carmen Miranda imitation, making use of his own banana in the process.
